1P100W #92 – 10 for 12

No, no, no, oh nooooo! What have I done? What have I done???

I was shopping for some DIY stuff in a place where King’s Confectionery used to be around. Turns out my memory was playing tricks on me because it isΒ still around.

And they have this [10 Portuguese egg tarts for RM12] thing, normal price RM2.40/piece. My hand moved faster than my brain, yet again.

How the fuck am I supposed to finish 10 egg tarts on my own???

Alter ego: what you talkin’ about? They used to be THIS BIIIIGGGGGGGG, look at how tiny they are now. Of course you can wallop them all!

  1. I don’t know how tiny they were coz you didn’t hold up one for us to judge the size…hehe! πŸ˜€ I’m assuming they weren’t as tiny as those Taman Muda egg tarts, those you can eat in one go! πŸ˜‰

    • Oh no, not as tiny as those. But pretty tiny. Probably 60%-70% the size of a regular egg tart. You know, you should go hunt it up yourself. King’s should be more commonly found in KL. These tarts are awesome too! XD

    • That’s not easy at all. You’re 360km away from me at the best of times, 4 hours drive away. Eating them all by myself would be 10 times faster. πŸ˜›

  2. Hahahaha! So you did it! Must thank NuxV for introducing this offer. I controlled myself and limit myself to onea a day. So how many did you eat in one sitting? Did you finish them all up in one day? I am sure you don’t want to eat tjem cold like I did or reheat them so youwill not put them in the fridge.

    • How to limit to one a day??? I popped 3 for supper last night. I planned to pop 4 for breakfast, together with a cup of instant oats. But without realizing it, the box was empty 10 minutes ago. Nooooo!!!!
They did go to the fridge for the night. No way not to. No other places I can stash these goodies without attracting ants. 😐

      • Did you reheat them or just eat them direct from the fridge like I did? Still tasty, right? They were still tasty when I ate them about 5 days from when I first bought them.

        • I took them out of the fridge and let them sit for 10 minutes. Well, yeah still tasty. The custard filling was a bit hardened, but it was all good. πŸ˜€

  3. 10 Portuguese egg tarts for RM 12 is very cheap. Are the pastry soft or do they have a crunch? What was the custard like?

I have not had Portugese egg tart for some time now. You have ‘reminded’ me of the food I should have before I leave for foreign shore.

    • What if I say, both soft and crispy? They’re flaky. The custard is like typical Chinese egg tarts, but they caramelized it on the top, making it more yummy. πŸ˜›

  4. Yum, egg tarts! Well, if I have 10 egg tarts, there is a possibility that I can finish it in two sittings in a day – breakfast and lunch. One of my favorites.
