1P100W #91 – Broccoli Pork

I made a stupid mistake today. I cooked 300g of lean pork with a head of broccoli, thinking to go carb-less. While cooking,Β I noticed some forgotten four days old cooked rice in the fridge. Four days is my limit for storing cooked rice, so… fuck…

Reminds me of my life back in the US. Broccoli pork (broccoli freakin’ anything actually) is a popular Chinese takeaway dish in the US. OneΒ portion of those would have so much food and rice that you could eat it over two meals. Three if you’re a small eater.

To comfort myself, I watched a video of an even bigger eater while eating.

  1. I remembered this crazy video which my wife asked me to watch. She asked why she could not eat like that lady??

Have you lost some weight with the carbless meals?

    • Ask your wife to watch the one where she show her health screening results. Then she will have more questions. πŸ˜€

I didn’t weigh myself to confirm. And it wasn’t carbless. It was intended to me, until the rice interfered. πŸ™„

  2. I have eaten cooked rice from my fridge that was at least 4 days old or older but the temperature of my fridge was set at high.

I am not endorsing the above. It depends on the individual’s state of health and preference.

  3. I actually read ‘broccoli pork’ as ‘broccoli park’, so I guess I must be exhausted or something.

Argh, wieners of all the names. *shakes head*

    • No worries, you’re not alone. I’m exhausted too. I haven’t even checked your blogs out today, let alone have the opportunity to misread words. @.@

What’s wrong with wieners? It is a legit type of German sausage. Stop hijacking it to describe something else! πŸ˜›

      • It’s alright, man. Don’t worry about not being able to hop over to our blogs. =)

Oh, there’s nothing wrong with weiners. It’s just that one of my friends has decided to colour my brain with another description of it. :/ I’m sure you know what I mean anyways. πŸ˜›

        • Yeah I know what you mean. I just want to let you know I don’t like how people hijack that word to mean that. πŸ™„ πŸ˜›

  4. Nice nice! I also like broccoli but I would prefer meat with some fats. Lean pork is just too dry for me. Oh…that Yuka girl, eating so much onigiri. I would very much prefer those tiny sausages πŸ˜€ Ah, if only I can be like her, eat and eat and yet stay so slim. Sigh….

  5. I definitely can’t eat 300g of lean pork in one sitting (especially if it’s cut so thickly)…it’s just too much…and too chewy….and my jaws would tire…hehe! πŸ˜€ Is that a piece of not fully cooked pork in the bottom left corner of the bowl I see? >.<

    • It was fully cooked. I don’t know why it became black like that. Probably some not so fresh bit or something. πŸ™„

  6. How much rice did you have left? You ate them all with the pork and broccoli? Can stretch your rule and keep the rice for another day to cook fried rice if there is enough rice.

    • Not too much, just one bowl of rice, but… I’m not comfortable to keep more than 4 days. I don’t have that level of confidence with cooked rice yet.

  7. i wonder how does those US Chinese take-away meal box looks like…These days i enjoy watching Mukbang and seeing how those people can finish up their food so fast/steady like a pacman. As for competitive eater, i prefer watching Matt Stonie…well, he’s cute!

    • I’m sorry that I don’t have any pictures of those take-away meals. I wonder why I never thought to snap some of them pictures up. πŸ™„

Mukbang. That’s a Korean word. That’s the name of this eating genre? There’s a name for this genre even? 😐
