1P100W #48 – Fried Rice Vermicelli

Remember the last time my mom made me sandwich to prevent me from going out for breakfast? This time she did not even wait for me to voice out my intention. I woke up in the morning to the sight of this fried bihun (rice vermicelli).

What’s in this plate of food? Well, there’s bihunΒ of course. There’s also egg, onions, carrots, green bell peppers, yellow bell peppers, and spam from Singapore. And there’s a couple romaine leaves to top things off.

It is very nice, but it also means, no pork noodles for me for two consecutive home trips now.

    • You know, you’ll see a lot of such noodles if you go to those organic/health dining restaurants. People go apeshit over different colored vegetables there.

  1. Chau mai fan for bfast, sedap wor.. I only put cabbage, fishcakes and egg inside.. Yours got luncheon meat timm, sure sedap geh.. Looks good, very balanced, lots of veggies, which I’m sure you like.. I think even without the Spam, it still taste good..

  2. LoL. I’ll try to remember this post when my sons are your age and comes back to visit every once in a while. I’ll remember not to cook for them and let them wake up feeling hungry with nothing on the kitchen table. I’ll remember to buy pork noodles instead for each and every trip they are back home. They’ll eat nothing but pork noodles only πŸ˜›

    • You’re sulking. I can’t wait for your sons to grow up and read their blogs when they are my age πŸ˜€ . I suspect it won’t be pork noodles for them. It would probably be something more luxurious and expensive.

        • They’ll do the same with their blogs (if they are blogging). You’ll end up being isolated from what’s going through in their minds. It is better if you all keep your blogs public, and we will have fun reading the shots and return salvos between mommy and sons. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  3. She wants you to eat healthy and then she fries beehoon with spam for you?? Oh dear, you come back to KL but always can’t get to eat the food you want….I feel for you!! πŸ˜€

    • The spam was so little that it was negligible hahaha! Well, I’m leaving tomorrow, so I still have a small chance..

  4. i love fried beehoon!!! i really don’t mind waking up and there’s some fried beehoon for me as breakfast.. but then hor, your mum really wants you to lose weight?? that plate of beehoon is so pathetically small in portion, cats also not enough lah dei~~

    • Except before this bihun, I also had one big glass of fruit/veggie blend (and then went back to sleep), then after this bihun came a bowl of apple, raisins, and yogurt muesli (forgot picture).

  5. I can barely see the Spam in the fried rice. Then again, it’s not that healthy and we all know that.

My family have been using that blue-white-porcelain patterned plate all our lives. My dad even has a mug in that pattern. We still use them today.

        • Thanks for reminding me of how long I have been neglecting Instagram. And by the way, now that I’ve seen the actual mug, it does look kind of familiar. I think we probably had one of those too in the past. πŸ˜€

          • I really like that porcelain mug as it never stains. My dad drinks tea with it all the time and it has never had brown stains. Come to think of it, none of these blue-pattern plates ever had a stain on them even after we had and used them for years πŸ˜€

  6. At least there is spam from Singapore in the fried meehoon. She knows you well enough not to make it a full vegetarian fried meehoon. Hehehehe! The fried mee hoon sure looks tasty.

    • Nah, she will shove full vegetarian down my throat at every opportunity. That spam, she added because the big brother requested for it last night.
