Piers Morgan On…

I was going to write today, what I did not write yesterday. But I was distracted again. I came back from grocery shopping earlier today, only to squander the rest of the day watching a series of documentaries on Youtube (in between making lunch, taking a dump, taking a shower, and making dinner). I realized that I have another episode and a half to go, so I don’t think I will be writing it today either. So, like yesterday, I am going to share with you the videos that distracted me.

The documentary series in question is [Piers Morgan On…]. As the title implies, the host of this show is none other than the famous British television presenter Piers Morgan. I think there are quite a lot of British TV personalities that are very famous in the world nowadays, with their douche-bag straightforward comments in a gentlemanly accent. Piers Morgan and TopGear’s Jeremy Clarkson are my favorites.

I know, not many people likes these two old farts. But for those people, I think it is just because you guys cannot appreciate British humor, and you cannot understand that they are TV personalities so they have to behave like how they do in front of TV to boost viewership.

Anyway, back to the show. [Piers Morgan On…] is a series of travelogue focusing on the perspective of the rich and luxurious lifestyle. There are a total of six episodes, and in each episodes, Piers travel to one location and find out why the rich and famous go there. The locations are: Dubai, Monte Carlo, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Marbella, Shanghai.

Of course, as with all British TV shows, the information provided has to be taken with a pinch of salt. British shows are meant to be partially factual and partially entertaining, and I believe this series is no different.

Piers and Paris

This series is by no means funny or exciting. I am watching this mostly to see how Piers talks, and how he interacts with various rich and famous British people in each of those locations. And it is quite interesting to get a peek into the luxurious houses, big boats and fast cars.

I’m sharing all six videos here. They are in the order of how I watch it, not which episode comes first on TV. I don’t expect any of you to watch it, but in case you are interested, then the videos are there for the clicking. Mind you, each episode is 45 minutes long.

I like how in each episode, the show presents all the fun and glamour in the first half, and then shifts to the problems each city is facing, and finally highlights the things done to secure the city’s future.

I am currently halfway through Marbella, and I am going to finish up with Hollywood before I go to sleep tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I can function normally again without anymore distractions…

  1. I have heard of this Piers Morgan but never watched these fabulous videos. I will watch the balance tonight and I love the fast lanes. I have visited Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills, so I like these clips.

    • You have very rich and powerful relatives, so I’m sure the atas lifestyle doesn’t faze you at all. 🙂

  2. My favorite is Simon Cowell. I loved his blunt and honesty when he was a judge on American Idol. Also, you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth.

I have bookmarked this post and I will check them out when I have time.

    • I liked the first few episodes of American Idol season 1 actually, but then it gets old pretty fast. I don’t know, he felt kind of fake to me, it was like he was just saying things to drive the ratings up. I didn’t feel the implied intelligence from Simon after awhile to be honest.

  3. I like Piers Morgan and his sarcasm. I’ve watched him on America’s Got Talent, The Celebrity Apprentice and CNN News. I don’t know what it is about British accent but I find it so sexy! 😀

    • In the Hollywood episode, he interviews NBC’s chairman and this is what he has to say about the British accent: “… the nature of the accent and its implied intelligence…”, which I think sums up the reason for you quite properly. 😀

  4. I’m familiar with Piers Morgan. I think I saw him on America’s Got Talent. He’s OK I think. I’ll have to wait for a day when I am free to watch the videos 🙂

    • Only if you want to torture yourself watching how the rich lives. I watched these as a means to self motivate.

  5. Call me jakun, never heard, never watch those shows before.. The person too, Piers Morgan, dunno him too.. When I see the title, I thought it’s about a pier somewhere, seafood or seaside or a boatride or fish & chips post.. Aikkks, paiseh…I see Rich & Famous in the link.. I remembered I always watch the show ger wor, when I was just 7 or 8, shown in the TV, at 8.30pm..

  6. Thanks for sharing about what you squandered your time away watching. I don’t think I will click on the 6 links because I am squandering my time away playing candy crush level 888 and so don’t have anymore time to squander. Just a question, is the show more on the rich and famous or more on the cities?

    • The show is 100% on the rich and famous. He goes to each city and investigate why the rich people move there, and how they live there.

  7. I never watch those shows because of one simple reason: I will be jealous it will never be me doing all those fancy nice stuff 😀 I’m good with my life now, but of course I wish to have enough money to never worry about any shopping, quit any job and just travel around the world etc. 😀 so for my own sake I just switch the channels 😀
