I’m not sure if you remember reading about how I only paid RM 8 (~$3) for my water heater unit and another mysterious item.
Well, the mysterious item has arrived! I was called last night to go and collect it from the shop. As I was going grocery shopping today, I went and picked it up along with my grocery bag.
This is the mysterious item:
A stand bowl mixer by Faber!
I have not decided whether this will be one of the smarter purchases that I made, or the more stupid ones. All I remember was that when I was told that I can redeem another RM 120 from the shop, I acted without thinking straight, again. I was still reeling from the failed blueberry cheesecake attempt, and the idea of getting some enhanced power to help me successfully bake a cake was a pretty great idea at that time.
It doesn’t feel like such a great idea now. I acted on impulse, and I’m kind of feeling a tinge of regret now..
The other day, I was having lunch with some friends, and one of them said that I’m a stupid fool for wasting my time cooking and baking and blogging about them. She said I should focus on more manly things, like getting a girlfriend. Blogging about baking cakes and cooking simple meals will not help me achieve that. And I think she is kind of right. Ouch! 🙁
Okay, maybe I should focus on the positives. I think buying a mixer set like this is better than buying those standalone mixer without the holder and bowl. With this guy, you can still detach the mixer and use it as a standalone. And it is cheaper than a standalone mixer. I have not figured out why is that.
There’s another thing that I have not figured out. There is this screw driver like piece of thing included in the box. I think it is another thing that we can attach to the mixer, but I have no idea what this thing does. Do we use it to whisk things up as well? Or does it do something else?
At this point, if you think that I will surprise you by revealing a cake that I successfully baked, I am sorry to disappoint you. I did not buy any ingredients for cake baking. In fact, I am not even sure if I want to use it. I have packed it nicely back into the box and tucked it away in a visible corner.
Maybe I should use it in a way that can help me win girls. Give it as a gift to a girl? But then, chances are the girl has less culinary skills than I do. To make matters worse, she might think that I expect her to cook and bake for me. That would not be good for building good impression.
Maybe I can do another round of freebie giveaway for the blog? But then, the actual price of this guy is RM 128. It feels a bit expensive for me to give it out for free. And what event do I conduct? Whoever that bakes the nicest cake and blog about it wins? That’s not gonna work. Whoever that can bake a cake as it is won’t need this mixer, whoever who cannot bake a cake will probably be not interested with this mixer.
Maybe I can sell it in Mudah.my? But… it doesn’t feel right. I just bought something brand new from the shop, and then immediately sell it for a loss. That sounds pretty stupid to me.
Tsk tsk tsk… maybe I should just leave it alone for awhile and not think about it…
Oh right, the other day Mun asked me to snap a picture of fu kwai choy for her. I saw it again today, here we go:
It looks just like those sawi/choy sum, but they are slightly smaller, and the leaves has more threads and are more wrinkled.
