Now That The Season Is Over

With 3rd place finally safe in the bags and the neighbour being ousted from the last Champions League place next season, we can enjoy St Totteringham’s Day and a couple of good beers…
Hopefully Monsieur Wenger learned last summer’s lesson well. If your player wants to leave, they WILL leave, no point pretending otherwise until it is too late…
I have a gut feeling that our Captain Vantastic will leave this summer, and as much as Wenger hints otherwise, I think he knows the club will be raking in another 20 to 25 million pounds soon… But he acted fast this time, which is good, bringing in Lukasz Podolski early on, although I truly believe he will play instead of rather than alongside van Persie next season…

Not the end of the world though… With Arsenal and Wenger, we know we will survive… when Henry left, everyone predicted we would be caught in the relegation battle. When Fabregas and Na$ri left, everyone predicted we would be caught in the relegation battle. On both occasions, did we?

No doubt when Captain Van leaves, everyone will start predicting again…

I actually don’t feel that worried for next season… I mean, we’re fairly covered in all areas…

Goal: Sczezesny in goal is much better than Almunia and Flappyhandski…

Defence: Would you trade Verminator and Koscielny for another pair of centre backs? Sagna and Gibbs are not the most flamboyant or full backs, but on their day, they are fairly effective. And a substitute of Mertesacker, Santos, and Jenkinson aren’t too shabby either.

Midfield: The trio of Song, Arteta and Rosicky has been integral in our run to 3rd. Ramsey will be well rested, and Ox will step up, and Wilshere will be back, and Ryo is coming back, and the youngsters are coming through…

Attack: Podolski, Gervinho, Walcott. I can foresee that they will share the goal scoring load more evenly rather than rely on 1 man…

Knowing Wenger, we can stop expecting dreaming about an Eden Hazard or a Javier Pastore. That’s not gonna happen…

I’d just be plenty glad if he would look lower down the league table and get a bargain or 2 to shore things up. I personally prefers these 2 man:

1. Mohamed Diame – he doesn’t cost a transfer fee now, and he knows the type of football Arsenal plays. He would be an option that releases Alex Song to a Yaya Toure role…

2. Junior Hoilett – he will be cheap and he’s got pace. I actually wants to see him and Ox on the wings, and Walcott moves into a more central striking position.

Actually I never understood why Wenger refuses to use Walcott in Henry’s role. He learns from Henry, and he wants to play in Henry’s role, and he scored a hat-trick for England in that position. Not to mention the Invincibles’ are formed on Henry-Bergkamp axis.

I know 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 is the way to go in Europe, but for the Premier League, 4-4-2 should be the way to go…

LASTLY, I THINK WE SERIOUSLY NEED A SPECIALIST DEFENCE COACH TO TEACH THE PLAYERS TO DEFEND AS A TEAM. The problem is how we defend, not who plays the defender…

And, let’s hope my prediction on van Persie becomes dead wrong…
